Store Opening: Lidl Monks Cross, York

Last week Matt Holroyd, Adeel Bashir and Ian Catherall were up before the birds to attend the Lidl GB Monks Cross, York store opening!

This great store features a 1,516sqm sales area that contains the ‘fan-favourite’ Middle of Lidl, a wonderful in-store bakery and additional customer facilities- including toilets with baby-changing stations.

Externally, the scheme includes roof mounted solar panels to power the store and ample bicycle and carparking spaces alike – alongside electric vehicle charging points too!

HTC Architects’ Matt Holroyd acted as the Principal Designer throughout, and the team, (especially Benjamin Mundin-Smith) provided architectural services up to Tender Stage.

Fantastic to see such a big turn out from the local community in the cold, so early in the morning, confirming this excellent store will be a much-welcomed addition to the area – bolstering the supermarket options for residents in Monks Cross!
