Men’s Health Week: 9th – 13th June 2025
This week at HTC Architects we’re celebrating #Men’sHealthWeek – an annual event created by Men’s Health Forum to promote discussions around men’s health and wellbeing.
With almost two-thirds of men saying they’re comfortable talking to their colleagues about their mental health, it’s clearly evidenced that strong working relationships play a key role in helping men feel comfortable having mental health conversations and seeking the support they may need.
At HTC, our Westfield Health plan, that we provide to all our employees, offers a range of benefits including (but not limited to):
· 24 Hour Advice and Information Line
· Up to six sessions of structured counselling
· Access to the Wisdom app
· Telephone support from a qualified counsellor
Connection is key for mental health, and suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50.
You can quote the statistics about suicide, but it is hard to convey the devastation with just numbers. So it’s time to check in – physically, mentally and emotionally.
Some Key Points from the NHS :
🩺 Prioritise regular health check-ups.
🧠 Talk openly about mental health.
🥦 Make time for good food, movement, and rest.
👥 Support the men in your life – check in, speak up, be there

Architecture and the construction industry have historically been male dominated, so it is high time we in the industry change the perceptions around masculinity to be positive ones.
That can only be done one person at a time- it might as well be you. 😊
